A Bit About Us

Greetings Opportunity to Make Choices Supporters,

Opportunity to Make Choices is a non-profit organization that teaches and enables teens to become functioning adults. We use Teach the Gifted Academy to educate students to further themselves in life and their studies. In our vision, we empower every person who comes in contact with our programs with tools for resilience. Thus far, we have prevented over 50 adults from becoming homeless in Killeen and the surrounding areas.

About Me:

My name is Natasha Harris I am the founder of Opportunity to Make Choices and Teach the Gifted Academy. I am originally from California, and moved to Killeen, Texas in 2001. I have three biological children, an adopted son, and a grandchild. My passion is education and helping young adults to find their path in life. I have a masters degree in education, a bachelors in social work, and currently pursuing a PHD. I began teaching in 2004 and became a foster parent in 2011. Over the past 30 years, I have devoted myself to raising and teaching children, and my desire to help has grown. Being a foster parent, I understood how much those kids needed support.      

Opportunity to Make Choices-We are making a difference. One homeless young adult is a problem that needs to be addressed.
